Mangalavanam is an ecologically sensitive area in the heart of Kochi, India, covering an area of approximately 2.74 hectares. Behind the Kerala High Court. It is a nesting area for many migratory birds and supports many mangrove species. Managaravanam is often considered the "green lung of Kochi" given its role in controlling the city's air quality. The area is home to many resident and migratory bird species, and recently surrounding high-rise buildings have restricted the movement of birds within the reserve. Buildings near the reserve obstruct the birds' natural orientation, take-off and landing. They also create problems in terms of the physical movement of nesting birds. It can also hinder the movement of birds when bringing food to nestlings and fledglings. The management of the reserve is handled by Deputy Conservator of Forests and Wildlife, Mangalavanam Nature Research Center Kaladi Bird Sanctuary followed by Range Officer, Kodanad Research Area. For bird watching. This green paradise is also home to resident and migratory birds.
