Paithalmala is a hill station in Kannur city near Potempuravi, in the Indian state of Kerala. It is the highest geographical peak of Kannur with an altitude of 1,372 metres. It is 40 km from Talipamba and 65 km from Kannur. It is located on the border of Kerala and Karnataka, close to the Kodagu forest and the Western Ghats. Pattamala Peak is located in the Western Ghats and is a great place for trekking enthusiasts. This hike passes through thick forest and opens into a wide open space leading to the top of Paitamara Peak. Travelers can take a dip in the cool waters of Ezharakundu Waterfall along the way.
