Previously, this street was full of Kozhikkodan Halva shops. Europeans call halva dessert. That's why they named this street "Sweet Encounter Street" or "SM Street". The initial name of SM Street was "Huzoor Road". Rows of sweet shops, savory foods and many other delicacies make this one of the busiest streets in the entire region. The street, also known as Mittai Theruvu, meaning Sweetmeat Street, is a shopping street in Kozhikode (Calicut) in the Indian state of Kerala. This road is a pedestrian zone. There is also a 160-year-old fire temple among the shops. This is the forum for all products. Any business can get quality products at affordable prices compared to other places.
