In the early 1970s, many hippies followed the Hippie Trail to Ceylon and began transforming the popular fishing village in Kerala into a major tourist destination. With its beaches and scenic views, Kovalam is the favorite beach destination of all travellers. Kovalam was famous as part of the hippie scene in the 1970s. Although the beach has changed over the years, it attracts tourists with its aura and offers them a rich experience. With three beautiful beaches and offering culture, heritage, health, zen and adventure sports, Kovalam is a paradise for beach lovers. Hawa Beach or Eve Beach; Also known as Grove Beach (Samudra Beach), Kovalam Beach and Lighthouse Beach. Lighthouse Beach is famous for its lighthouse which has beautiful bird views of Kovalam. .
